Job Description
Sterile Processing Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our Central Processing Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level I trauma center and will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly decontaminated, assembled, wrapped, and sterilized in accordance with best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, wrap, and ensure proper sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Maintain sterilization equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to meet instrument needs during operations.
• Ensure accurate inventory management of surgical instruments and supplies.

Shifts & Schedule

Shift: Nights, 5x8 hours (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Weekend Requirements: On-call weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of overall experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• Experience in a Level I trauma center is preferred, but candidates with at least Level II experience may be considered.
• National certifications such as CBSPD or IAHCSMM are required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to urgent requests.

Additional Information

Applicants must have a strong background in orthopedic and spine instrumentation. Additional knowledge in general, vascular, neuro, eye, and urology instrumentation is advantageous.

No floating to other units is anticipated, and block scheduling is not available.
