The Cleveland Clinic's renowned Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute is pleased to offer a clinical associate staff surgeon role in pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery at a high-volume congenital cardiac surgery program. This program offers an exceptional opportunity for qualified candidates to participate daily in the full spectrum of congenital cardiac surgical care from infancy through adulthood and work alongside a large team of experienced pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgeons. Program Highlights High-volume neonatal surgical program Biventricular repair program Pediatric and adult congenital mechanical circulatory support program Pediatric and adult congenital heart transplant program High-volume of complex adult congenital surgical cases Aortic valve repair program Cardiac ECMO program Work Environment Collegial, high-volume, and innovation-driven culture Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits Dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit coverage with 24/7 in-house pediatric cardiac intensivist coverage Exposure to some of the most complex and rewarding congenital cardiac surgical cases Clinical Responsibilities Daily operating with multiple colleague congenital cardiac surgeons Participation in weekly congenital cardiac surgical patient conferences and congenital cardiac surgery research meetings Daily pediatric cardiac intensive care unit rounds and bedside management Active participation in candidate evaluation and selection for pediatric and adult congenital transplantation Pediatric cardiac ECMO coverage Perioperative care of transplant and mechanical circulatory support patients Teaching as part of the CCF ACGME-accredited integrated thoracic surgery residency and congenital cardiac surgery fellowship training programs Eligibility Requirements Completion of one of the following: Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency 4+3 Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Traditional Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship (2 or 3 years) Or graduation from a Canadian-accredited Cardiac Surgery Residency Plus Prior clinical experience in pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery Must qualify for a full Ohio medical license Equal Employment/Affirmative Action Employer – Min/Fem/Disability/Vet.Smoke/drug free environment Salary $115,128/year (100% FTE), aligned with academic clinical associate benchmarks Comprehensive Cleveland Clinic benefits package including: Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement and savings plans Professional development resources The salary range displayed in this job posting reflects the anticipated salary range for new physicians hired into full-time (100% FTE) positions. This range is generally aligned with or below the 50th percentile of nationally recognized compensation benchmarks by specialty. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE.
