Associate Compensation Analyst – Smithfield Foods Overview At Smithfield Foods, the Associate Compensation Analyst works at the heart of dynamic compensation programs, ensuring fair and competitive compensation practices across the organization. The role involves managing compensation administration, evaluating job descriptions, conducting salary administration, and providing analysis and insight to support HR and business goals. Responsibilities Complete and maintain salary survey data, compiling and submitting timely market information for annual reviews. Evaluate organizational jobs, document responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions, and respond to inquiries about compensation, market competitiveness, job leveling, and description development. Execute core processes, support the annual merit increase process, and partner with HRIS and Payroll to ensure smooth, efficient, error‑free operations. Maintain a comprehensive database for accessing compensation information and associated job descriptions. Assist in the creation of compensation‑based communication materials and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive project completion. Develop and maintain internal compensation databases, processes and procedures, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Lead special projects such as acquisition integration, organization restructuring, system installation, and report analysis. Leverage internal and external data to provide strategic solutions to compensation issues, monitoring effectiveness of plans, programs and policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and HRIS. Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, initiative and sound judgment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills That Make You Stand Out Knowledge of compensation principles and concepts, market pricing, compensation plan design, job evaluation and grading, and FLSA review. Ability to work with all organizational levels, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate maturity. Strong planning, problem‑solving, project management, and organizational skills; ability to multitask. Current PHR, SHRM‑CP or CCP certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external vendors and customers. Team‑orientated, respectful, approachable and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced environment. Compensation and Benefits Expected pay range: $52,500 – $77,500 per year. Relocation package available.
