Health Aide

Health Aide - DMSQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required or willingness to obtain.Previous experience working in a school, healthcare, childcare, or similar setting preferred.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information appropriately.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm and use good judgment in emergency situations.Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.Ability to follow district policies, health plans, and established medical procedures.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.Required Commitment To:Provide basic first aid and care to studentsAssess student complaints and determine appropriate next steps in accordance with district procedures and established health protocols.Contact parents/guardians regarding student illness, injury, or other health concerns as appropriate.Assist with the administration of student medications in accordance with district policy, physician instructions, and applicable laws and regulations.Maintain accurate documentation of student health office visits, medications, injuries, and parent/guardian communications.Assist students with established individual health plans, emergency action plans, and other documented health needs as directed.Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and contact emergency medical services when necessary.Follow appropriate infection-control, sanitation, and universal precaution procedures.Maintain the confidentiality of student health and educational information in accordance with district policy and applicable laws.Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, staff, administrators, and healthcare professionals.Continued education as designated by the District Nurse and AdministrationPerform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, District Nurse, or District Administration.Physical Requirements:Ability lift and/or move up to 50lbsSit, stand, walk for extended periods of timeMust be able to push up to 50lbs such as pushing student wheelchairTolerate exposure to bodily fluids and illness associated student careDeadline To Apply: Until FilledApply To: Gregory Guernsey, Middle School Principal, View email address on click.appcast.io Equal Opportunity Employer
