CDR General Services is seeking experienced and dependable Stick Welders for a full-time opportunity in Hartford, IL . This position requires strong SMAW welding skills using 6011 and 7018 electrodes, with the ability to successfully complete welding tests in multiple positions. Candidates should be safety-conscious, reliable, and comfortable working in an industrial environment.

• Pay: 24.00–27.00 per hour

Requirements

• Previous professional Stick/SMAW welding experience required.

• Must have experience welding with 6011 and 7018 electrodes.

• Must be able to complete approximately a 12-inch weld test in the following positions:

  • Horizontal Butt

  • Vertical Lap

  • Vertical Butt

  • Overhead Lap

  • Overhead Butt

• Must understand proper bevel preparation and root-pass techniques using 6011 electrodes.

• Must understand proper storage and handling of 7018 electrodes to prevent moisture contamination and weld defects.

• Must be familiar with appropriate amperage settings for 6011 and 7018 welding rods.

• Must be able to perform vertical-uphill welding using proper technique.

• Must understand common welding defects, including slag inclusion, porosity, undercut, and hydrogen cracking.

• Must be available to work Monday through Saturday and approximately 48 hours per week.

• Must be able to work the assigned shift.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SMAW/Stick welding procedures.

• Experience performing structural or industrial welding preferred.

• Ability to produce quality welds in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.

• Knowledge of proper electrode handling, weld preparation, and cleaning between passes.

• Ability to identify and prevent common welding defects.

• Strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity.

• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
