Director-Level P&C Chief Actuary RoleInsurance regulatory leadership closer to a regulatory leadership role than a capital strategy post—the deciding factor is authority over filings, rate reviews, statutes, and policy rather than internal capital ownership.Director-level P&C Chief Actuary role with the South Carolina Department of Insurance in Columbia. You will advise executives on solvency, market trends, and regulation; oversee actuarial and research teams; review rates, reserves, reinsurance, and statutory filings; and support legislation and regulatory policy.Must have:Professional designation of ACAS or ASA required7-10 years experience in insurance or related fieldKnowledge of SC statutes pertaining to insurance regulationExcellent communication skillsBachelor's degree in math, statistics, actuarial science, finance, or related fieldStrongly preferred:Ability to oversee and manage a teamAbility to comprehend and evaluate evolving issues in the insurance marketsAbility to organize and direct a research teamPrior management experienceStrategic planning experience for research agendasFellow of CAS or SOA (FCAS/FSA)Tools: Excel PowerPoint Domain: Insurance regulation Rate review and approval Reserve examination Reinsurance contract review Statutory filings
