Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in MedSurg to join our team. This position is based in Alaska and involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and efficient nursing care to patients in a MedSurg setting.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising physician.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuous professional development activities.
Schedule and Orientation
The position requires a commitment to 12-hour shifts during the day, with specific scheduling details to be determined by the supervisor during orientation. Orientation will take place on a Monday, followed by ongoing shifts as per the unit's needs.
Requirements
- Active Alaska nursing license is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is necessary, with a preference for candidates with 5 years of experience in MedSurg.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Floating to different departments may be required based on staffing needs.
- Reliable transportation is essential.
Housing Information
Free housing accommodations are available for one occupant. Please note that pet units are not offered.
Additional Information
This is a 16-week contract position with weekly payroll. All hours worked during orientation and beyond are billable. We do not accept new graduates for this position.
