Position: PACU RN - Days

We are currently seeking a qualified PACU Registered Nurse to join our team for a Day 4x10-hour shift. The start time will be variable between 05:30 AM to 07:30 AM. Candidates must have experience in Pediatric PACU and knowledge of both inpatient and outpatient care guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for pediatric patients aged 0-25 years.
• Assess and monitor patients post-operatively, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Work collaboratively in both Pre-Operative (Pre-OP) and PACU settings.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary interventions.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.

Schedule:

• Work schedule consists of 4x10-hour shifts during the day.
• Requires 2 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
• Expected to take 2-3 call shifts every 6 weeks.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric PACU experience is required.
• Must possess active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
• Floating between Pre-OP and PACU units is required.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and phlebotomy is preferred.

Patient Care Details:

• Daily patient census: approximately 70 patients.
• Procure care for children with diverse needs, including those requiring specialized equipment.
• Handle a variety of surgeries except for open hearts, NICU, and transplants.

Additional Information:

The position requires bilingual candidates, specifically those who speak Spanish fluently, to cater to our diverse patient population.
