Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer

Client is seeking an experienced Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer with strong C/C++ development skills and hands-on Hardware-in-the-Loop experience. This role supports real-time embedded systems, simulation environments, and software development within a secure defense engineering setting.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support real-time embedded software using C/C++.
• Work with Linux systems and real-time operating environments.
• Support Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and validation for embedded systems.
• Work with simulation systems tied to real-time embedded software platforms.
• Participate across the full software development life cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Use tools such as Git, GitLab, JIRA, and Agile/Scrum practices where applicable.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

• 8+ years of experience in real-time embedded software engineering.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++.
• C++11 or higher experience.
• Strong Linux systems experience.
• Experience working in real-time operating environments.
• Hands-on HWIL experience with real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with simulation systems.

Preferred Skills or Experience

• Ada experience.
• Full software development life cycle experience.
• Experience working with cross-discipline or cross-functional teams.
• Git, GitLab, and JIRA experience.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
