We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract position focused on an elementary SDC (Special Day Class) caseload serving 6th to 8th-grade students, with an emphasis on English and Math instruction. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, to June 16, 2027, offering a rewarding full-time opportunity to foster growth and achievement.

Key Qualifications:

• Active California mild/moderate teaching credential required (must be current)
• Experience teaching students in Special Day Classes, particularly at the upper elementary or middle school level
• Strong background working with diverse learners in both English and Math
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 20 students, delivering individualized and group instruction
• Collaborative skills to work effectively with other educators, families, and support staff
• Skilled in adapting curriculum and applying classroom management strategies tailored to student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction in English and Math to students in a self-contained SDC setting
• Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs for your caseload
• Assess student progress, document outcomes, and adjust lesson plans as necessary
• Maintain regular communication with parents and multidisciplinary teams
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment promoting engagement and academic growth
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings as needed
