Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Special Education Teaching certification, valid for elementary level
• Experience teaching in a self-contained or similar special education classroom
• Solid understanding of IEP development, data collection, and evidence-based instructional strategies
• Strong classroom management skills with a collaborative, student-centered approach
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and materials for varying ability levels
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Team player with a compassionate and proactive mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
• Provide direct instruction, adapt curriculum, and modify teaching strategies for students in the self-contained setting
• Track and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and ongoing communication with families and staff
• Foster a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff development sessions, and ongoing training opportunities
