About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Pediatric PACU, Pre-Op, and outpatient care License: Active California RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Pediatric PACU experience Knowledge of inpatient/outpatient care and guidelines Experience with trachs and phlebotomy preferred Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in the Pediatric PACU. This position requires working both Pre-Op and PACU. Start time will be variable between 05:30 and 07:30. The RN will support a high volume of patients, particularly during summer months, handling 80+ patients a day across phase 1, phase 2, and discharge. The role includes caring for patients aged 0-25 years, including those with complex needs such as trachs, vents, G-tubes, and home vented children. Experience in managing pediatric patients is essential. The RN is expected to float as needed between Pre-Op and PACU. Call and weekend shifts are required, with a commitment of 2 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule and 2-3 call shifts during the same timeframe. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment alongside radiology and unit secretaries, providing care for diverse diagnoses in a fast-paced setting. All certifications must be current and valid before consideration for the role. References may be requested to ensure competence in required areas of expertise.
