Tax Internship - Spring 2027 - CPA Firm

Start building your accounting career with practical experience at Elder Hanson & Company, Ltd. , an established CPA firm located in downtown Naperville, Illinois. We're seeking an accounting student to join our team as a part-time Tax Intern during the Spring 2027 tax season (January 18 through April 15). This position offers meaningful work , direct exposure to public accounting, and the opportunity to learn from experienced Certified Public Accountants . Compensation & Benefits $20-$24 per hour, depending on qualifications Paid training throughout the internship One-on-one guidance from experienced CPAs Team social events and happy hours Technology-focused workplace About Our Firm Elder Hanson & Company provides tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and consulting services for closely held professional service businesses and their owners. Our team believes in combining personal service with innovative technology while creating an environment where students can gain practical experience and continue developing professionally. Responsibilities During the internship, you'll assist with a variety of tax season projects, including: Organizing confidential client tax information Digitizing and electronically filing documents Reviewing files for completeness and accuracy Preparing client deliverables for electronic and printed distribution Assisting with individual income tax return preparation after demonstrating proficiency and based on workload capacity Communicating professionally with clients and coworkers Working from our downtown Naperville office Qualifications Candidates should: Be pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 Be comfortable using Microsoft Office Demonstrate excellent organization and attention to detail Possess strong written and verbal communication skills Be dependable and motivated to learn Be authorized to work in the United States Have reliable transportation Work Schedule Flexible scheduling is available.
