Composite Layup/Bonding Technician Specialist

Basic Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience working composite manufacturing including layup operations utilizing rosette, insert bonding, final bag application, out time record keeping, composite curing operations including autoclaves. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools and power tools. Strong understanding of composites fabrication. Job Description We are seeking a Composite Technician to work at our Littleton, CO site. The role involves working with composite materials, integrating structural and precision mechanical components, and maintaining tight tolerances in a shop environment. Key Duties Work from engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications to assemble structural and precision mechanical components. Installation and torquing of fasteners, drilling, installation of rivets, adhesive bonding, and shimming interfaces to close tolerances. Apply aerospace paint, aerial primer, and other coatings using spray, brush, and swab techniques. Prepare surfaces using grit blast, hand abrasion, and power abrasion techniques. Fabricate prepreg and wet layup components, including vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing. Fabricate tooling from various materials such as aluminum, composites, and wood. Operate small shop power tools (saws, routers, sanders, grinders). Utilize machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, table saw, band saw). Assemble composite structures including setup, bonding, and fastener applications. Operate measuring devices such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and torque wrenches. Desired Skills Aircraft & Powerplant license or similar professional certifications. Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly and process equipment (oven) programming/operation. Past experience working in an aerospace or space environment.
