Ultrasound Technologist

As needed- Mon-Fri 8:00a-4:30p

Performs a variety of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a general skill level.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs obstetrical ultrasound in all trimesters including first trimester screening, level II fetal anatomic survey, growth evaluations, biophysical profiles and assists with interventional procedures including amniocentesis. Fetal echocardiography experience preferred but not required.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
• Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
• Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
• Knowledge and use of digital image storage systems such as PACS.
• Job accountabilities specific to the WellSpan Medical Group: • Directs patients to rooms and obtain vitals of patients.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

• Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Abdomen Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Breast Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Fetal Echocardiography Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Neurology Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-OBGYN Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Pediatric Upon Hire Required or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Pediatric Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

• Accredited program in ultrasound technology. Upon Hire Required
