Mammography Technologist

The Mammography Technologist provides high-quality mammography services, preparing rooms and equipment, and performing diagnostic imaging in accordance with safety standards and regulations such as MQSA and ACR. They evaluate images for quality, ensure proper patient identification, and communicate results effectively. The role involves patient education, addressing concerns, and maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing mammography imaging, positioning patients appropriately, and developing films.
• Ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality during procedures.
• Monitoring radiation safety and adhering to all safety protocols.
• Verifying physician orders, preparing contrast media, and evaluating image quality.
• Providing excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff.
• Maintaining accurate patient data entry in computer systems.
• Participating in quality assurance, safety activities, and regulatory compliance.
• Working effectively within a team, rotating shifts, and responding to emergency situations as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington) and Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• State certification as Mammography Technologist and AART-M registration or training with two years of radiology experience.
• Preferred: One year of mammography experience.
