Title: Project Engineer

Position Description

• Enterris Associates is seeking a Project Engineer will provide additional professional support on city street and park improvement projects across multiple Los Angeles-area jurisdictions.

Essential Job Duties

• Provides engineering and technical support to the Resident Engineer and project management team on city street and park improvement projects.
• Supports projects that include roadway, pavement, and bike path work; utilities; sidewalks, bus shelters, and bus stop amenities; curb ramps, curb and gutter, and ADA improvements; and traffic and pedestrian signals.
• Supports park and public recreational space improvements such as shade structures, hydration stations, misters, bike racks and lockers, micromobility amenities, ADA parking, utilities and lighting, and minor flatwork and civil works.
• Reviews plans and specifications, and coordinates with designers to resolve questions, conflicts, and design changes.
• Reviews requests for information (RFIs) and contractor submittals for technical conformance with contract documents and applicable jurisdictional standards.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and cost tracking, and evaluates change order requests and time extension requests.
• Reviews contractor schedules and progress payment applications, and monitors progress and budget.
• Visits project sites to observe work and verify conformance with the contract documents, permits, and ADA requirements.
• Coordinates with jurisdictional agencies, utility owners, contractors, and stakeholders on permits, approvals, and technical requirements.
• Prepares reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation, and takes part in pre-construction, progress, and coordination meetings.
• Assists with project closeout, including punch lists and as-built documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Professional Experience Level/Other Quali cations
• 6 or more years of experience as a Project Engineer or in civil engineering on public works, street, or transit projects.
• Experience with the standards and requirements of one or more of the following, and familiarity with the others: City of Los Angeles (Green, Blue, Brown, and Red Book standards for public works), the Cities of Downey, Bell, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, Norwalk, Long Beach, El Monte, and Carson, Caltrans, the County of Los Angeles, and CT Greenbook Standards - confirm meaning.
• Able to work typical business hours or construction shifts in person.
• Commute to the project office/IPMO is at the employee's own expense.

Education/Training/Certificates

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate, preferred

Hardware/Software Knowledge

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with the project management information system used on the program

Compensation

• This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $135,200 - $176,800 and commensurate with skill, education, experience, and work location.
• This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
