Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire Vascular Surgery | Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology | Procedural Setting

A specialized vascular and surgical practice in Tennessee is seeking an experienced Scrub Technologist to join its procedural team. This opportunity is well suited for a Surgical Technologist with strong procedural experience, particularly those with Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms for scheduled vascular and interventional procedures.
• Verify that surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and procedure-specific materials are available and properly prepared.
• Assist with room setup according to the procedure being performed.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Scrub in and assist physicians and other members of the procedural team.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed during procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of physicians and the procedural team.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field.
• Assist with surgical site preparation and sterile draping.
• Handle specimens and other procedural materials according to established protocols.
• Operate and assist with procedural equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor the sterile field and immediately address potential breaks in sterile technique.
• Follow infection-control, aseptic-technique, and patient-safety standards.
• Assist with vascular and interventional procedures as assigned.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to procedures, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation between procedures.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are handled appropriately following procedures.
• Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent procedural situations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized procedural environment.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Perform additional Scrub Technologist responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous Surgical Technologist or Scrub Technologist experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred/required according to applicable facility requirements.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
• Vascular procedure experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and infection prevention.
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
• Strong understanding of patient safety and procedural standards.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of physicians and other procedural team members.
• Strong patient-care and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused during complex procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to patient safety, sterile technique, and quality patient care.
• Ability to meet applicable scheduling and on-call requirements.
