Division: Reports to: Gary City Court Status: Open

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Communicate effectively with court staff, attorneys, judges, and defendants
• Maintain safety and order in the courtroom
• Call the court to order
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the police department, lake county prosecutor’s Office, and Clerk’s Office
• Handle evidence and court documents
• Escort jurors, witnesses, and prisoners
• Other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College degree preferred, an associate degree is acceptable
• Must be a Lake County resident
• Must have knowledge and training in security procedures
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
