School Registered Nurse (RN) in San Jose, CA

In this contract position based near Hayward, CA, you will play a key role guiding and supporting the LVN educator program as a Registered Nurse. Full-time hours (30 per week) allow for meaningful engagement with the program while maintaining work-life balance. Compensation ranges from $68.12 to $75.18 per hour, reflecting the expertise and responsibility this role requires. Core qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. At least 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and a current, active California RN license (candidates certified only as LVN are not eligible). Coursework completed at an approved institution covering administration, teaching, and curriculum development. Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a California Teaching Credential (including Designated Subjects Credential with subject authorization in Nursing Services or Health Science and Medical Technology, Adult Education Credential, or an elementary/secondary credential). Ability to meet the minimum requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing for this role. A valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation. Willingness and ability to obtain fingerprint clearance from both the Department of Justice and FBI. Educator CTC required or willingness to pursue. Key responsibilities: Lead and mentor within the LVN educator program. Facilitate the development, delivery, and assessment of curriculum and instruction. Collaborate with educational staff to ensure high-quality teaching and student engagement. Maintain compliance with all applicable state requirements.
