Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU/CCU position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and SANE certification in hand at time of consideration.

Job Details

• > Work in the ICU/CCU (Medical Intensive Care and Cardiovascular) unit of a hospital,
• Night shift 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM),
• Patient ratio of 1:2,
• May float to Med Surg or to Center of Hope (20 minutes from main ER) based on facility needs,
• Required to work every 3rd weekend, potentially up to every other weekend,
• Holiday rotation required, generally 3 of 6 major holidays,
• No on-call requirements,
• Uses Meditech charting system,

Job Requirements

• > Active RN license (IN state or compact) required,
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, SANE (in hand at time of consideration),
• PALS certification preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU experience required,
• Experience with pressors, sedation, thrombolytic therapy, electrolyte replacement, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator/BiPAP support,
• Experience performing or assisting with bedside procedures including chest tube placement, intubation, line placement, cardioversions, lumbar punctures, and thoracentesis,
• Ability to manage conscious sedation,
• Skills in central line and PICC line care/management, blood product administration, and IV therapy,
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols,
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips,

Additional Information

• > Care for ICU and Progressive Care patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiac, and hemodynamic support,
• Perform bedside procedures within scope, potentially including conscious sedation,
• May float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby depending on volume/census,
• Scrubs of any color accepted, professional appearance required,
• No parking costs at facility,
• Maximum RTO is 7 days; if requesting time off during holidays, must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 major holidays,
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler,
