Job Description

A specialty outpatient facility in Middletown, CT is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CMA, RMA or LPN to perform Surgical Scheduling duties! This role is responsible for coordinating patient procedures and surgeries while ensuring all preoperative requirements are communicated and completed accurately. Responsibilities include scheduling patient procedures and surgeries at the clinic, ambulatory surgery center, or hospital, coordinating appointments and maintaining accurate scheduling records, advising patients regarding surgical and financial preoperative requirements, obtaining and verifying required documentation, authorizations, and insurance information, communicating effectively with physicians, clinical staff, hospitals, and surgery centers, ensuring all scheduling information is updated promptly and accurately in the system, and providing excellent customer service and support to patients throughout the scheduling process.

Qualifications include previous medical scheduling or surgical scheduling experience preferred, knowledge of medical terminology and preoperative processes, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload, experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred, and professional, patient-focused demeanor.
