Under the general direction of the Classification and Parole Representative (C&PR), the Correctional Counselor II (Supervisor) (CCII) plans, organizes, trains, and directs the work of unit Correctional Counselor I's (CCI's) in all aspects of casework and classification services. The CCII will present cases placed in the Restrictive Housing Unit (RHU) to the Institutional Classification Committee (ICC) and act as the recorder for Committee. Ensure all case work/classification services are implemented according to the California Code of Regulations Title 15, Department Operations Manual (DOM) and all other laws, rules, and policies. Responsibilities may extend to supervision of inmates and general custody duties in time of emergency. Perform other custodial duties as required by proper authority and adhere to departmental Use of Force Policy. Prevent escapes and injury by inmates to themselves, others, or property. Maintain security of working areas and work materials. Inspect premises and searches of inmates for contraband such as weapons or illegal drugs.You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement . Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter. 4. Pursuant to the Public Health Orders ( Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings and State and Local Correctional Facilities and Detention Centers Health Care Worker Vaccination Requirement) issued by the California Department of Public Health and the directive Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccines and Testing for Institution Staff issued by the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR), all staff assigned to this post/position may be required to show evidence of full vaccination and booster for COVID-19, absent an approved reasonable medical or religious accommodation precluding them from vaccination. 5.
