Lab Associate I - Phlebotomist

Are you looking for a career as a Lab Associate -Phlebotomist? Look no further than BJC! This position is in Phlebotomy . Join our Phlebotomy Laboratory team to be an integral part of delivering precise and reliable laboratory results that impact patient outcomes positively.

• Hours - Two Weekday Shifts 9:00am - 5:30pm and Every Other Weekend 4:30am - 1:00pm
• Schedule - Varying Weekdays and Every Other Weekend
• Duties - Inpatient Phlebotomy. Drawing inpatients and also crossed trained in central receiving, where they will receive specimens in and take to the different departments within the lab. This employee will help with customer service calls as well. Looking for someone who has great communication skills, and the ability to jump in and help where needed. Candidate should have experience with drawing pediatric patients.

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
