Overview Location: New Britain, CT Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday 8‑5 Scheduled Hours: 40 hours Position Type: Full‑time EMR System: EPIC Responsibilities Clinical Care: Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs across the disease process. Collaborate with supervising physician(s) per state law and hospital regulations. Perform medical histories, physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and manage treatment plans. May perform procedures and prescribe treatments as per institutional and state guidelines. Serve as operative team assistant where scope allows. Patient Education & Psychosocial Support: Educate patients/families on care, resources, treatment plans, side effects, and discharge instructions. Provide psychosocial support within the multidisciplinary team. Information Management: Ensure appropriate documentation and protect patient information from unauthorized access or disclosure. Quality Management: Demonstrate high standards of professionalism, compassion, and ethical behavior. Ensure compliance with patient‑related healthcare regulatory requirements. Professional Development: Engage in projects to maintain and advance competency. Serve as clinical resource for new staff, mentor students, and participate in research, quality assurance, and performance improvement projects. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Experience: Clinical experience as an NP/PA in specialty/service line preferred. Must be appointed to YNHHS Medical Staff and complete credentialing. Provide reference letters as required. Licensure: Active PA or NP certification (NCCPA, SPCS). Connecticut State license. ACLS/BLS certified. Additional DEA license, PALS/NRP as applicable.
