POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing Supervisory Crime Intelligence Analyst (CIA) services related to the detailed research and analysis of confidential law enforcement and domestic security intelligence and criminal investigative information in order to identify, analyze, collate, and disseminate to key stakeholders. The member will also review and approve strategic or tactical products being disseminated on behalf of the Florida Fusion Center or its nodes. Additionally, the member will supervise the dissemination and/or response to Requests for Information (RFIs) from partner agencies. The Supervisory CIA will also liaise, as needed, with executive personnel representing internal and external agency stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include: Supervising CIAs of various rank assigned to the Strategic Intelligence Analysis Center (SIAC); Supervising the activities of the SIAC, oversees research, compilation, and dissemination of finished intelligence, and makes recommendations to management regarding emerging criminal threats, as well as sustained criminal threats, to the State of Florida; Working closely with the Florida Fusion Center Network to ensure the effective sharing of analytical findings and applicable intelligence products. Directs gathering and sharing of emerging threat intelligence concerning all crimes all hazards and high-profile incidents of interest potentially impacting the State of Florida and/or the greater community; and Performing routine supervisory duties consistent with FDLE Policies and Procedures. To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Nine years of analytical experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or investigative experience in a law enforcement agency. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university substitute for four years of experience. A master’s degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline; or a professional certificate in one of these disciplines can substitute for one year of the required experience. Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of nine years. Vocational/technical training in the area of law enforcement, or college coursework from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 720 classroom hours per year for education. Completion of the FDLE Law Enforcement Analyst Academy (FLEAA) within two years of hire date.

Knowledge of the intelligence cycle; Knowledge of the criminal justice system; basic management principles and practices; on-going law enforcement-related programs and functions of the Department; Ability to supervise people; Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to management analysis activities; Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; Ability to solve problems and make decisions; and Ability to work independently.
