Role Overview

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide essential clinical support at the unit level, assisting with direct patient care, admissions, discharges, and transfers. Your role is critical in assessing patient conditions, responding to emergencies, and coaching staff in clinical practice and customer service. You will also coordinate bed utilization, ensuring efficient patient flow within inpatient units.

What You Will Do

• Assist with direct patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assess patient conditions and complete clinical tasks such as IVs and blood draws.
• Respond to clinical emergency situations and ensure patient safety and rights.
• Coach unit staff in clinical practice, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
• Coordinate bed utilization within inpatient hospital patient care units.

Qualifications

Required

Qualifications

• Two to three years of relevant acute care nursing experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Michigan Nursing License.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Preferred

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
• ACLS certification.
