Traditional Labor Law Associate

This position is for a Traditional Labor Law Associate attorney for the firm’s Orange County, CA office. The expected salary range for this position is $222,500 - $242,500. (Salary determined based on experience and other factors.) Duties and Responsibilities Represent employers in traditional labor law matters, including advising on federal and California workplace laws. Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), researching and writing. Represent management in NLRB elections. Provide legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements. Negotiate and/or provide legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements. Handle grievance, arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings. Obtain mass picketing injunctions. Advise employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodations and other workplace issues. Review handbooks, policies and forms for compliance with federal and state law. Review compensation, commission and bonus plans. Conduct management training regarding labor relations, federal and California workplace issues, harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Conduct due diligence of employer operations for workplace law issues in conjunction with acquisitions/mergers (as needed). Other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned. Skills and Educational Requirements JD from an ABA accredited law school. 4-6 years experience in litigation or advice work as an attorney in traditional labor (preferred). Experience in federal and/or California advice and counsel work (preferred). CA Bar admission. Understanding of current agency enforcement techniques. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
