Billing Representative - North Kansas City, MO

Billing Representative Accendra Health delivers essential healthcare services beyond traditional settings, ensuring that products and services are accessible at every stage of life. As part of our care team, you will play a critical role in delivering personalized, long‑term care for the patients we serve. Salary range: $17.00 – $19.00 hourly (actual pay may vary with experience, skills, education and location). Key Highlights Office‑based position Focus on billing accuracy and reimbursement timelines Interaction with patients and internal teams regarding account status Documentation‑driven role What You’ll Do Prepare and handle billing for accounts to ensure timely reimbursement Ensure all paper claims are submitted within 48 hours of print date Identify insurance requirements to meet payer needs Review bills for correct products, codes, physician information, and billing format for payers Pull patient files as needed to verify information Ensure all required backup documentation is submitted with each bill Review and correct edit reports for electronically submitted claims, as needed Respond to written customer inquiries regarding account status within five days of receipt Respond to verbal patient inquiries within 24 hours Research customer accounts thoroughly and document appropriately Document all changes to bills and account activity in the billing system Bring recurring issues to the attention of the department supervisor Perform other duties as required What We Look For High School Diploma or GED required One year of related experience required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Business acumen Problem‑solving/analysis Communication proficiency Personal effectiveness/credibility Computer Skills Basic skills in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Word Benefits Medical, dental, and vision care coverage Paid time off plan 401(k) plan Flexible Spending Accounts Basic life insurance Short‑ and long‑term disability coverage Accident insurance Teammate Assistance Program Paid parental leave Domestic partner benefits Mental, physical, and financial well‑being programs Accendra is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
