Leveraging rigorous engineering principles, the team integrates safety into every phase of the system lifecycle, enhancing reliability and safeguarding our warfighters.We are currently seeking Senior System Safety Engineers. These are onsite roles and can be located in Woburn, Tewksbury, Marlborough, Andover or Portsmouth RI. What You Will Do: System Safety Program Development and ExecutionDevelop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and perform associated tasks, analyses, and planningConduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with system requirements, customer specifications, and military standardsStakeholder Coordination and ApprovalCollaborate with customer safety representatives to clarify system requirements and ensure proper allocation to software, hardware, and test personnelCoordinate with customer safety representatives and Safety Review Board authorities to gain safety approvalManage System Safety Working Groups with Raytheon and customer representativesCross-Disciplinary CollaborationWork across integrated product teams and engineering disciplines, including Systems Engineering, Software/Firmware, Electrical, and Hardware Engineering, to eliminate hazards or implement effective controlsCollaborate across multiple disciplines to gain a comprehensive understanding of product architecture and designLifecycle Safety OversightSupport safety efforts from program startup through production, demilitarization, and disposal phasesBrief safety considerations and program status during technical reviews and approval processesReporting and DocumentationPrepare internal and customer-facing reports detailing system safety analyses and program statusQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experienceExperience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety EngineeringExperience writing technical reports and presentations​Qualifications We Prefer:Active and transferrable DoD security clearanceExperience developing and implementing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).  This includes hardware and software safety related tasks. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
