Job Details Job Location: Orlando - GEMD - Kissimmee, FL 34744 Position Type: Per Diem Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: On Site Job Summary The Ultrasound Technologist is a specialized tech who provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic general/or vascular sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention to aid in better diagnosing patients. Essential Job Functions Patient Assessment – Perform patient interviews to gather medical history and relevant information, ensuring patient safety and proper procedure planning. Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented. Position patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation. Equipment Setup – Prepare and calibrate Ultrasound equipment, and ensure daily and weekly quality control measures are taken. Imaging Procedures and Optimization – Conduct imaging studies using various techniques and protocols. Adjust equipment settings to obtain clear and accurate images, optimizing image quality and ensuring diagnostic value. Works closely with radiologists to perform proper diagnostic testing when abnormalities are identified. Data Analysis – Analyze acquired images and recordings to identify abnormalities, measurements, and anomalies. Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. Documentation – Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and image data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. Communication – Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and help in the development of treatment plans and diagnoses. Maintains accurate and precise documentation. Quality Assurance – Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to the Ultrasound modality. Compliance – Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, policies, and protocols, including HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Qualifications Required Education – Associate's degree or higher in echocardiography or a related field from an accredited program. Required Experience – Minimum 2 years of experience in an outpatient diagnostic imaging facility or hospital. Required Licenses and Certifications – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS; BLS certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cardiac pathophysiology. Proficiency in operating sonography equipment and software. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Compassion and empathy in patient care. Knowledge of patient safety and infection control protocols. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Proficiency with sonography equipment, eCW, PACS, Google Suite, Microsoft Office. Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation. Assists with other departmental duties and responsibilities as needed. Language Requirements – English (Advanced). Spanish (Preferred). Creole (Preferred). Other Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. It does not handle physical money or negotiate contracts, nor does it have budget responsibilities. Travel Required. Flexible to travel per business needs. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment, and must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force routinely, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The employee will also frequently reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Required vision includes close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental Conditions Inside: protection from weather but not necessarily temperature changes.
