Electrical Estimator

KEP Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic estimating team in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role is in-office and offers the opportunity to contribute to project success through accurate cost estimation and collaboration with Division Managers. Responsibilities Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work. Use estimating software to perform quantity takeoffs and create proposals. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align on project requirements and budgets. Source and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to develop competitive estimates. Review historical data to refine estimation processes. Assist in preparing bid packages, including proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation. Monitor industry trends, labor costs, and material pricing to maintain up-to-date estimates. Maintain clear and organized records of all estimates and supporting documentation. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the estimating department and overall business needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is a plus. Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, with strong knowledge of residential Single‑Family and Multi‑Family construction projects. Proficiency in estimating software or similar tools. Solid knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Excellent analytical, mathematical, and attention‑to‑detail skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Successful completion of pre‑employment screening (background check, drug screening, MVR) and reliable transportation for regular attendance. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and use a computer; view and read construction drawings and documents; communicate verbally and in writing; stand, walk, reach, bend, or move around the office occasionally; lift or carry up to 25 pounds. Work Environment In‑office position based in Cincinnati. Work involves regular interaction with Division Managers, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members. Occasional visits to job sites or vendor locations may be required.
