Position Overview
Salesforce & Marketing Cloud Business Administrator to support University Advancement.
This role will administer and optimize Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud , support marketing automation, maintain data quality, provide user training, and partner with Advancement teams to deliver effective CRM and digital marketing solutions.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Salesforce Administration and Marketing Cloud , including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, user administration, reporting, data quality, and marketing automation .
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud for University Advancement users.
Configure and optimize Salesforce and Marketing Cloud based on business requirements.
Design and support automated marketing campaigns using Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Email Studio .
Partner with business users to gather requirements and recommend Salesforce/Marketing Cloud solutions.
Support email marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, target lists, automated communications, and campaign execution.
Manage Salesforce users, including profiles, roles, permissions, sharing rules, and queues .
Maintain data integrity through data uploads, deduplication, data cleansing, QA, and routine audits .
Develop and maintain queries, reports, dashboards, and campaign performance metrics .
Provide day-to-day Salesforce and Marketing Cloud support to approximately 200 users .
Identify user training needs and conduct training sessions for new and existing users.
Create and maintain training materials, documentation, process guides, and best practices .
Audit email sends and provide guidance to users on campaign setup and execution.
Test new Salesforce and Marketing Cloud functionality and document results.
Collaborate with IT, third-party vendors, and cross-functional university teams on system enhancements and integrations.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve system efficiency and user adoption.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field .
3 5 years of hands-on Salesforce CRM and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience .
Experience administering or supporting Salesforce Marketing Cloud .
Hands-on experience with at least some of the following:
Journey Builder
Automation Studio
Email Studio
Salesforce CRM administration
Marketing automation
Data management / data quality
Reports and analytics
Experience with Salesforce user administration , including profiles, roles, permissions, and sharing.
Experience with data cleanup, uploads, deduplication, QA, and reporting.
Strong business analysis and requirements-gathering skills.
Strong communication, customer service, training, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business users, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Salesforce Administrator Certification .
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification .
Experience in higher education, university advancement, nonprofit, fundraising, or alumni relations .
Experience supporting a large user community.
