Seeking an Estimator with 3+ years of experience in the asbestos abatement and demolition industry, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, bid preparation, and construction estimating.
Responsibilities:- Review project specifications, drawings, and environmental reports.
- Prepare cost estimates for demolition, remediation, and abatement projects.
- Perform quantity take-offs.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Develop detailed proposals and bid packages.
- Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and safety professionals.
- Ensure estimates reflect scope, schedule, risk, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, value engineering, and cost tracking.
- Maintain historical cost data.
- Strong estimating skills in construction, demolition, or environmental services.
- Proficiency with estimating and office software (e.g., Excel, estimating platforms, PDF take-off tools).
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical reports.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and practices related to remediation, asbestos and lead abatement, hazardous materials handling, and site safety.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Relevant experience in commercial, industrial, or environmental construction estimating.
- Experience with California projects preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent estimating experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to visit job sites as needed.
