Machinist Description: Duties and Requirements: Set up and operate CNC equipment, including mills, lathes, routers, and other applicable machinery. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, part prints, engineering specifications, work travelers, and setup sheets. Load CNC programs, tooling, fixtures, and materials for production. Set and adjust tooling, fixture, work, and tool-wear offsets. Perform machine setups ranging from standard setups to complex tooling, workholding, and program validation based on experience. Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain production and part quality. Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and/or CMM equipment. Apply GD&T knowledge appropriate to experience level. Experienced Machinists may modify CNC programs and work with G-code, feeds and speeds, canned cycles, turning, drilling, tapping, boring, circles, and arcs. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and production issues. Assist with first-part inspections and verify parts meet quality requirements. Accurately complete production and quality documentation. Provide technical support and guidance to other operators as experience allows. Support training, cross-training, 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. High school diploma or GED required. CNC machining experience required; responsibilities and pay will be based on skill and experience. Ability to perform manufacturing math, measurements, and metric conversions. Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to meet the physical requirements of a manufacturing environment.
