Position Summary

The Recreation/Activity Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs. This role involves conducting activity therapy assessments, facilitating both group and individual therapy utilizing various expressive therapy modalities, and defining as well as implementing treatment plan interventions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Additionally, the therapist will maintain all clinical documentation while providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance and Movement Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or related educational fields where Expressive Arts were practiced.
• Certification: Must possess current registration or certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or relevant licensure in accordance with state and/or national board standards within the specified field of allied health.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of psychiatric patient care techniques and mental illness.
• Certifications: CPR certification is required.
