Lending System Specialist

Position Summary The Lending System Specialist will use strong system aptitude, attention to detail, and accuracy to support the lending division’s system maintenance, project deliverables, and AI/ML tools. This role creates high‑quality system testing, validation, and documentation to ensure division key performance indicators are met and improve efficiencies. Develop high‑quality test scripts and perform system testing and validation for core and ancillary systems for system conversion, new products, and lending projects for the Consumer, Indirect, Mortgage, Collections, and Loan Servicing areas. Assist with all new lending projects and initiatives, working closely with the project management team to ensure accurate procedures and testing deliverables are met. Accurately complete preapproval campaign testing and provide communication to internal partners. Create and maintain exception reports to proactively monitor system changes, compliance findings, and product support. Stay abreast of new lending compliance and regulations for system maintenance applications, including TIL, TRID, MLA, HMDA, ECOA, FDCPA, etc. Complete testing and assist with the implementation and maintenance of AI/ML tools to increase efficiency and drive performance. Perform team member observation to look for optimization opportunities, make recommendations to management, create documentation and procedures, and monitor automations. Support in data collection for internal and external audits, ensuring system updates are completed and findings documented. Maintain lending optimization logs and spreadsheets for changes, outages, daily operations, and vendor support. Maintain lending optimization procedures and review internal and member‑facing documentation to proactively identify inaccurate or outdated information, including intranet content, the Wellby website, and departmental procedures. Update and maintain deliverables for Business Continuity Planning for the lending division, ensuring the BCP system is updated to prevent and recover from potential threats. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSA) Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions and general operating policies and procedures. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of personal computer usage, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software. Knowledge of lending regulations and compliance requirements (TIL, TRID, HMDA, ECOA, MLA, FDCPA). Knowledge of consumer, indirect, mortgage, collections, and loan servicing processes. Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications. Ability to interpret regulations affecting the Credit Union. Ability to troubleshoot system issues and resolve discrepancies in testing or reporting. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to efficiently understand and follow oral and written instructions, perform routine duties without close supervision, and establish effective working relationships with other team members. Ability to coordinate several concurrent activities simultaneously. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Supervisory Responsibilities Team member does not have supervisory responsibilities. Complexity & Scope of Work The team member follows Wellby’s policies and procedures, Team Member Handbook, and federal and state laws and regulations. The team member will ensure policies, procedures, and programs are consistently administered and compliant with professional standards. The team member performs routine and generally related tasks without supervisory direction. Tasks may occasionally need to be coordinated, integrated, and/or prioritized. Courses of action are determined by established procedures and/or their leader. The team member’s work is reviewed periodically for accuracy, completion, and compliance with policies and procedures. The team member uses independent judgment in making decisions. Physical Demands & Work Environment Physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The team member is frequently required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Daily movements include sitting, standing, reaching, grasping; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the office; and attending possible onsite and offsite meetings. The team member must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. Some degree of stress results from contact with management and other team members. The team member must be able to observe details at close range. Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds across the office. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work involves the typical risks and discomforts associated with an office environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field required. Minimum three (3) years of directly related experience. One year of required education may be substituted for one year of experience. Experience with lending compliance and regulations required.
