Financial Controller

We are working with a growing real estate firm based in Westlake, TX, looking to bring on a Controller to take ownership of the accounting function and act as a key financial partner to leadership. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations across multiple real estate entities Manage month-end and year-end close , ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP Lead tax coordination and compliance , working closely with external advisors (strong tax background required) Handle cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting Support acquisitions, dispositions, and capital activity from an accounting perspective Maintain and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting efficiencies Act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing insights on financial performance Assist with audit processes and lender/investor reporting as needed Requirements: CPA required Background in public accounting (tax-focused preferred) with transition into an in-house Controller role Strong experience within real estate accounting (multifamily, commercial, or development exposure preferred) Proven ability to operate in a hands-on, lean environment Strong understanding of GAAP, tax structures, and multi-entity accounting Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, or similar preferred) What They’re Looking For: Someone comfortable wearing multiple hats and stepping beyond a traditional Controller remit A proactive, solutions-oriented individual who can build and improve processes Strong communicator who can work closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders #J-18808-Ljbffr Blayze Group
