Robotics Engineer

Normal, IL Onsite Contract: up to 6-months JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support plant operations during new product launch and ramp up production.
• Coordinate buy-offs and commissioning with integrators and on-site subcontractors.
• Perform safety buy-offs of robot and operator safety (DCS, CubicS, MoveSafe, KukaSafe)
• Create tools to improve buy-off and commissioning activities
• Assist in the design and building of tools and equipment or recommended. Improvements to existing processes.
• Verify and configure I/O and set up communication with robot peripherals.
• Write, test, and modify or adjust existing programs and templates.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of the manufacturing process and design issues.
• Travel (Up to 60%) to the integrator's site as needed to perform equipment validation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/MS Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• 7+ Years of relevant experience in the field of robotics for industrial automation
• Demonstrated project planning and project management skills, utilizing project management tools, e.g., Smart Sheets, JIRA, Client suite.
• Experience commissioning industrial robots in a large manufacturing installation
• Basic understanding of mechanical repair, computer programming, and electric circuit design
• Experience with typical robotics applications i.e., joining, material handling, etc.
• Experience with Offline programming
• Ability to effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors
• Proficient with more than one familiar 6-axis industrial robot brand such as Fanuc, Kawasaki, ABB, Kuka, etc.
