Education & Experience Most database administrators hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A high school diploma with coursework in computer science, mathematics, and programming can be a foundation, followed by formal education. Practical experience in database design, administration, and related IT roles is often required. Key Skills Proficiency in database languages and design (SQL, data modeling, normalization). Analytical thinking and problem‑solving. Strong communication and attention to detail. Experience with relational and non‑relational databases.
