We are committed to achieving excellence in Environmental, Health & Safety through our Mission Zero initiative.MPS is seeking a talented Quality Technician supports quality control, receiving inspection, containment, product verification, and audit activities to ensure materials, products, processes, and shipments conform to company standards, customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and applicable quality management system procedures. This role is responsible for performing inspections, testing, data collection, documentation review, inventory research, and quality record maintenance to identify, contain, and resolve quality concerns.The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to support corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, internal and external audits, and the effective implementation of quality system requirements. The Quality Technician is expected to follow established procedures, work instructions, specifications, and test methods while contributing to the development, maintenance, and improvement of quality documentation, inspection processes, and quality control practices to enhance product conformity and customer satisfaction.This role is based on our Locust Grove, GA facility.What You'll DoPerform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of inbound materials, vendor shipments, manufactured products, containers, and outbound plant shipments in accordance with control plans, specifications, work instructions, test methods, and quality standards.Select and inspect samples, verify critical characteristics and dimensions, perform functional and visual testing as required, and accurately record inspection and test results in applicable quality, receiving, or enterprise systems.Operate, maintain, and verify the suitability of inspection equipment, laboratory instruments, gauges, measuring devices, and test equipment used to evaluate product conformity.Identify, document, segregate, and communicate nonconforming materials or products; initiate required quality records and support containment, quarantine, disposition, and corrective action activities.Conduct inventory research and material traceability investigations to locate suspect or nonconforming material, complete containment activities, and communicate findings to appropriate operations, engineering, quality, and management personnel.Support review and disposition of damaged, returned, or suspect products, including rework verification, re-boxing, relabeling, tagging, and associated material-handling activities.Verify receiving accuracy through review of shipping documentation, purchase orders, specifications, and system records; investigate discrepancies and support timely resolution of quality and receiving-related issues.Support internal, customer, and third-party audits through preparation of records, retrieval of documentation, participation in audit activities, and follow-up on assigned corrective actions.Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, test data, and controlled documentation in accordance with established quality management system requirements.Follow approved procedures, work instructions, specifications, control plans, and test methods while promoting consistent execution of quality processes across operations.Assist in the development, review, and continuous improvement of inspection procedures, test methods, quality documentation, control plans, and quality system processes to enhance product conformity and operational effectiveness.Communicate quality concerns, inspection results, containment status, and improvement opportunities effectively with cross-functional teams and provide timely status updates as required.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, problem-solving activities, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation to reduce defects and improve process performance.Comply with all safety, environmental, quality, regulatory, and 5S requirements while performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.What You'll Need to Excel in This Role3-5 years of experience in quality, inspection, receiving, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse operations, or a related field.Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection techniques, receiving processes, sampling methodologies, and nonconforming material control.Ability to interpret and apply work instructions, control plans, specifications, engineering drawings, test methods, and shipping documentation.Experience using measurement and test equipment, including calipers, thread and plug gages, micrometers, and other inspection tools and general hand tools.Familiarity with quality documentation, containment activities, corrective actions, and root cause problem-solving methodologies.Ability to work independently under general supervision, resolve routine to moderately complex issues, and escalate significant concerns appropriately.Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Experience supporting internal, customer, and third-party audits and maintaining quality records.Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of using ERP, QMS, inventory, and receiving systems.Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, procedural compliance, safety, environmental stewardship, and quality excellence.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Effective problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.Clear written and verbal communication skills.Ability to follow procedures, work instructions, specifications, and test methods.Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.Proficiency in the use of gauges, measuring instruments, inspection equipment, and test devices.Ability to identify nonconformities, support containment activities, and maintain accurate quality records.Total Rewards Offering:MPS offers a competitive compensation package;
