Tax Resolution SpecialistClayton Services is searching for a Tax Resolution Specialist to join a thriving company in the Houston Galleria area. The Tax Resolution Specialist will manage client cases from intake through resolution while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining strict confidentiality. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, confident, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced small-business environment.Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay Rate: $21.00 - $25.00/hour plus commission and bonuses Benefits: Excellent benefits are available upon successful completion of the temporary period.Tax Resolution Specialist Responsibilities:Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding IRS notices, tax disputes, balances owed, audits, refund delays, and compliance issuesReview and interpret IRS and state tax correspondence and determine appropriate next stepsEducate clients on tax processes, timelines, and resolution strategiesGather supporting documentation and coordinate responses to IRS inquiriesPrepare and organize case files, transcripts, and supporting documentationTrack and manage cases from intake through resolutionMonitor deadlines and follow up on pending client mattersCommunicate with tax preparers, accountants, and management regarding complex tax issuesAssist with payment plans, installment agreements, Form 2848, and related documentationMaintain accurate notes within CRM and tax software systemsCommunicate with IRS and state tax agencies when authorizedEnsure compliance with company policies and IRS data security requirementsProvide support during peak tax seasons and assist with additional client service activities as neededTax Resolution Specialist Skills and Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service and conflict resolution abilitiesAbility to explain complex tax matters in simple, understandable termsStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsExceptional organization and follow-throughAbility to work independently and make sound decisionsStrong attention to detail and deadline managementComfortable working in a fast-paced, occasionally chaotic environmentProfessional, confident, and highly personableAbility to adapt and contribute in a small business settingTax Resolution Specialist Education and Experience:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferredMinimum three years of experience in tax resolution, tax preparation, IRS correspondence handling, or tax office operationsPrior experience within a tax preparation firm, accounting practice, or tax resolution company strongly preferredWorking knowledge of: IRS notices and collections proceduresTax transcripts and IRS account navigationInstallment agreements and payment plansIdentity theft and IP PIN proceduresIndividual and business taxation conceptsExperience with Drake software or similar tax preparation systems preferredTax Resolution Specialist - Immediate need.
