Discipleship Minister Cornerstone Christian Church

Cornerstone is an Independent Christian Church within the Restoration Movement. We are located in Brownsburg, Indiana in a community that is one of the fastest growing communities in Indiana. We are a multi-generational congregation whose passion is to notice the unnoticed, name the unnamed and know the unknown. Position Purpose The Disciple-making Minister ensures the ministries of Cornerstone operate with alignment, clarity, and excellence. This role advances Cornerstone’s vision of Be Disciples, Make Disciples and its mission to Notice, Name, and Know, by providing leadership development, ministry oversight, relational discipleship pathway implementation, and operational coordination across the entire church. Primary Responsibilities Disciple-making, Home Groups & Equipping Function: Recruit, train, coach, and care for Home Group leaders and co-leaders. Provide curriculum, resources, and support aligned with Cornerstone’s relational discipleship model. Lead DiscipleShift trainings, workshops, and churchwide discipleship initiatives such as short-term groups. Model relational disciple-making through personal discipling relationships. Equip and empower leaders to multiply groups and discipleship environments. Strategic Value: This role anchors the church’s primary mission pathway: relational disciple‑making. Measurables: Number of active groups and % of congregation engaged. Annual leader recruitment and multiplication benchmarks. Attendance and completion of DiscipleShift trainings. Curriculum and discipleship resources produced on time and when needed. Administrative Support & Strategic Projects Function: Partner with Lead Minister on churchwide strategy, long‑range planning, and vision execution. Oversee internal systems, communication flow, calendars, and ministry processes. Support budgeting, financial planning, and resource stewardship alongside staff. Provide regular budget reviews, forecasting, and spending accountability. Implement Intentional Churches’ Church OS to improve clarity, productivity, and ministry alignment. Strategic Value: Creates organizational stability and reduces operational burden on the Lead Minister. Measurables: Annual budget cycle completed with clarity and timely communication. Routine budget updates provided to staff and elders. New systems or workflow improvements implemented yearly. Character, Competency & Cultural Leadership Model spiritual maturity, relational integrity, and a disciple‑making lifestyle. Staff culture health reflected in regular feedback. Active participation in disciple‑making relationships. Qualifications A mature, growing relationship with Jesus and a lifestyle that reflects biblical character. Alignment with Cornerstone’s mission, vision, values, doctrinal statement, and employee handbook. Proven experience in church leadership, disciple‑making, staff or volunteer development, and group ministry. Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills with the ability to translate vision into action. Ability to recruit, train, and multiply leaders within a relational discipleship model. Excellent communication, relational, and problem‑solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in ministry, leadership, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
