Java Developer

Java DeveloperGenesis10 is currently seeking a Java Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.As a member of an Agile team, the selected candidate will be responsible for working with users to refine requirements, design and develop high-quality, scalable systems, and support the QA/UAT process. This is a hands-on technical role focused on active development tasks using core Java and message-oriented middleware.Responsibilities:Work with users to refine requirementsDesign and develop high-quality and scalable systemsAssist users during the QA/UAT processPerform hands-on development tasks as part of an Agile teamRequirements:5+ years professional experience developing solutions with core Java2+ years professional experience developing solutions with Scala or other functional languageExperience writing Unit Tests and Acceptance/Behavior TestsAbility to deliver quality code on a timely basisStrong data structure, algorithm and problem solving skillsExperience and desire to work in an Agile environment (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.)Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain at previous employmentsExperience working on a team, sharing code base with continuous integrationWilling to participate in a production support rotaExperience working in a Linux/Unix environmentDesired Skills:Message-oriented-middleware (Kafka, AMQP, MQ, AMPS, etc.) experienceDistributed systems experienceWeb Application development (JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap, etc.)REST API design and developmentDDD/CQRS/Event sourced systems experienceRelevant industry (banking middle/back office) experienceExperience in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc)Experience with automated deployment technologies (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, etc.)Experience with 3rd party Scala libraries and frameworks (Scalactic, Scalatra, Akka, RxScala, TypeLevel libraries, etc.)Understanding of Category TheoryPay range: $61.60 - $69.60 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
