Design Engineer II

Position Summary The Design Engineer II performs complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing or other systems. Position Details Performs more complex modeling, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection or other systems Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc. Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating May be responsible for a single phase of a project Provides guidance to less experienced engineers Performs on-site field surveys to collect or deliver design and engineering data. Assists in writing technical narratives and responses to RFIs Responsible for Code compliance Qualifications Four-year degree in Engineering or related field PE License preferred Minimum3years’ experience Basic knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc., as well as general understanding of system operations. Ability to read construction documents.
