Housekeeper

A warm, down-to-earth family in Houston is seeking an experienced, highly organized Housekeeper to become a trusted, long-term part of their household.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional housekeeper who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautiful home and has the natural instinct to see what needs to be done and take care of it without being asked. The family values someone who is proactive, dependable, timely, organized, and confident independently managing the day-to-day care of a busy private residence.
While this is a high-end household, the environment is semi-formal, family-oriented, and welcoming. The family is looking for someone who can bring a high level of skill and professionalism while still feeling comfortable working within the everyday rhythm of a home with young children. HOUSEHOLD

The family currently resides in an approximately 6,000-square-foot, five-bedroom residence and will eventually transition to their permanent 9,500-square-foot, six-bedroom home, located approximately 15 minutes away.
The household includes:

• Two school-aged children and one baby
  
• A full-time nanny who assists with light housekeeping
  
• A part-time assistant
  
• A professional cleaning company that comes once per week for deep cleaning
  

The Executive Housekeeper will report directly to the Principal and take primary ownership of the daily housekeeping, laundry, organization, and overall presentation of the home. RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Housekeeping & Organization

• Perform daily housekeeping and maintain the residence to consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  
• Keep the home tidy, organized, polished, and guest-ready
  
• Maintain organization throughout closets, cabinets, drawers, and storage areas
  
• Work alongside the family's weekly deep-cleaning service to maintain the home between visits
  
• Proactively identify household needs, prioritize tasks, and manage the workday efficiently with minimal direction
  

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

• Exceptional laundry and garment-care skills are extremely important for this position.
  
• Manage family laundry from start to finish, including washing, drying, steaming, ironing, folding, and proper storage
  
• Carefully read and follow garment care instructions
  
• Properly sort clothing and linens according to fabric, color, and care requirements
  
• Confidently care for delicate, specialty, and high-quality garments
  
• Understand appropriate products, water temperatures, stain treatments, and washing methods for different materials
  
• Maintain white clothing and linens using thoughtful methods rather than unnecessarily relying on harsh bleach
  
• Utilize natural and organic laundry and cleaning products when appropriate
  
• Maintain beautifully organized closets, drawers, linens, and laundry areas
  

Light Family Cooking
Housekeeping will always be the priority, but the family would appreciate someone comfortable preparing simple family meals approximately twice per week.  Private Chef-level cooking is not expected.

Responsibilities may include:

• Preparing straightforward, healthy family dinners
  
• Washing and preparing fresh fruit
  
• Preparing simple breakfast items
  
• Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen before and after meal preparation
  

Entertaining & Household Support
The family occasionally entertains on a small and informal scale, typically hosting another family or two.
The Housekeeper may assist with:

• Preparing and organizing the home before guests arrive
  
• Setting out food and beverages
  
• Simple table setting and presentation
  
• Light food and beverage service
  
• Cleaning and resetting the home following gatherings
  

IDEAL CANDIDATE


The ideal candidate is an experienced private household professional who naturally notices what needs attention and takes initiative. They should be comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities rather than relying on a detailed daily task list.

The family is seeking someone who is:

• Experienced in high-end private household housekeeping
  
• Highly skilled in laundry, wardrobe care, and proper treatment of fine garments and fabrics
  
• Knowledgeable about natural and organic cleaning products and methods
  
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to anticipate household needs
  
• Reliable, punctual, and confident managing priorities independently
  
• Comfortable working around children and collaborating with other household staff
  
• Comfortable preparing simple family meals
  
• Professional, trustworthy, discreet, and fluent in English
• Local Houston or surrounding area required

SCHEDULE

• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• 5-day workweek with 2 consecutive days off. Official schedule to be determined.
  

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $83,200+ annually DOE
  
• 10 days paid vacation
