Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/ICU float position requiring at least 2 years of PCU/Step-Down/ICU experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital setting with a 21-bed unit
• This is primarily a Step-Down role that frequently floats to ICU and Med-Surg units — candidates must be comfortable working all three
• Patient ratios vary by unit: Step-Down 1:4-5, ICU 1:2, Med-Surg 1:5-6
• Patient population includes NSTEMIs, post-cardiac cath with intervention, vascular cases (fem-pop, CEA), CIWA patients receiving IVP Ativan, peritoneal dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen (<80%), home ventilators (Trilogy), wound care, and nebulizer treatments
• Non-titrating drips in use, including Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene
• Hemodialysis is conducted in the Dialysis Department
• EMR: Meditech
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every-other-weekend (EOW) requirement
• Orientation held every Wednesday

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, Step-Down, or ICU experience required
• ICU experience is required — PCU/Step-Down nurses must also have ICU experience due to float responsibilities
• Must be fully comfortable floating frequently across Step-Down, ICU, and Med-Surg units
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Travel nursing experience is preferred
• Scrub color: Royal Blue and White
• Candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
