Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Stepdown RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical Stepdown unit in a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Floating may be required to units of similar or lower acuity as needed
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, pending license accepted but must be active and in-hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS preferred)
• CPI and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Level II Trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with IV insulin protocols
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Surgical Stepdown unit supporting cardiac, respiratory, neurological, renal, and orthopedic patient populations
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed for emergent patient care situations
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Traveler's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Free parking provided
• Orientation includes completion of training modules
