Manufacturing Technician – 1st & 2nd ShiftLocation: Jupiter/Stuart, FLStatus: Contract to HireJob SummaryThe essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:Performs engraving, buffing, grinding, polishing, and touch up grinding on components or coatings using various tools and equipment per specificationPerforms sandblasting on components during reconditioning process per specificationUtilizes precision measuring equipment as required to check workAssists operators in setting up equipmentOperates cleaning process machines such as the ultrasonic or the hot water washOperate other process specific equipment as requiredOperates small cranes and fork-lifts to move equipment, parts, and materialQuality check of the performed work before operation step confirmationPreparation/confirmation of the required quality documentationReporting and monitoring of used production time per production stepCarrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and toolsKeeping the working environment and machines in a clean and proper conditionFollowing Environmental Health and Safety regulationsPerforming waste handling in accordance to EHS procedures & legal requirements, such as:Segregating waste generatedPlacing hazardous and non-hazardous waste in appropriate containersMaintaining waste containers closed and in good conditionLabeling waste containers with appropriate hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste labelsMarking the start accumulation date to hazardous waste label once the container in the satellite accumulation area becomes full.Arranging internal waste transfer to central accumulation areaContain and clean up area incidental spillsContinually improving operations and the working environmentIndependently carry out all assigned technician work during the reconditioning processOther duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsEducation & TrainingHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.Complete specific on-the-job training towards meeting essential duties and work area performance criteria.Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM's EHS Training Matrix, which includes:Initial and annual Hazardous Waste Management training.Skills/Experience2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment2+ years of experience of manufacturing experience with the specific skills in one of the following disciplines preferred: grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal (strip line), blasting, heat treat, machining or welding2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions preferredComprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processesBasic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and time keeping applicationsMust be a detailed oriented, high energy, self-starter with the ability to drive the successful completion of projects within specified time framesStrong oral communication skills requiredStrong quality and customer focusProcess and Team oriented; Multicultural sensitivityTrustworthy, quick learning, innovative and reliableProficient in the use of hand toolsPhysical RequirementsStooping/Crouching. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.The worker is subject to hazards.
