Pediatric Neurologist

Pediatric Neurologist (MD/DO)The Pediatric Neurologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of neurologic disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. This role focuses on evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and longitudinal management of acute and chronic pediatric neurologic conditions across outpatient and inpatient settings.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and manage pediatric patients with neurologic conditions including epilepsy, headache disorders, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, neurometabolic disorders, and neurogenetic conditionsProvide outpatient pediatric neurology clinic care and inpatient consultation services as neededPerform comprehensive neurologic histories and examinationsDevelop and implement individualized diagnostic and treatment plansInterpret diagnostic studies including EEG, EMG/NCS, neuroimaging, and laboratory testing as applicableManage neurologic medications and monitor treatment responseCollaborate with primary care providers, pediatric subspecialists, rehabilitation services, behavioral health, and allied health professionalsParticipate in multidisciplinary clinics and care conferencesEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, prognosis, and disease managementMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiativesSupervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicableParticipate in on-call coverage for pediatric neurology servicesComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Pediatrics residency programCompletion of an accredited Pediatric Neurology residency or fellowship programBoard-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric NeurologyAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesExpertise in pediatric neurologic disease diagnosis and managementStrong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skillsExcellent communication and family-centered care abilitiesAbility to manage complex and chronic pediatric neurologic conditionsCommitment to evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient pediatric neurology clinics with inpatient consultation responsibilitiesSchedule typically includes clinic hours with on-call coverage as requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environmentsManual dexterity for pediatric neurologic examinations and proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and diagnostic interpretation
